Purpose and Need: The Two Forces That Drive Life

In life, purpose and need are two powerful forces that shape our direction and decisions. Though they may seem similar, they play different roles.
Need is what we require to survive—food, shelter, safety, love. Needs are immediate and essential. They push us to act, often out of urgency or necessity. Without meeting our needs, life becomes a struggle.
Purpose, on the other hand, is what gives our life meaning. It’s the reason we wake up each day with motivation. Purpose is about fulfillment, not just survival. It goes beyond the basics—it inspires dreams, goals, and long-term vision.
When our needs are met, we begin to search for purpose. And when our purpose aligns with our needs, we find balance. For example, someone may need a job to earn money, but find a deeper purpose in helping others or creating something meaningful through their work.
Understanding the difference between need and purpose helps us grow. Needs sustain us—but purpose elevates us.

When the Body Burns, the Energy Becomes Eternal

In every culture, death is more than an end—it's a transformation. Among the many rituals humans perform to honor the departed, cremation is one of the most ancient and symbolic. But beyond tradition lies a deeper, almost mystical truth: when a body is cremated, its physical form is released, and the energy it held is not lost, but simply returned to the universe. According to the law of conservation of energy, energy can neither be created nor destroyed—it only changes form. This means the warmth, motion, and life force that once animated a body doesn't disappear in fire. It transforms. The heat from the flames, the smoke in the sky, the glowing embers—all of these carry fragments of a life once lived. They disperse into the air, the soil, and the stars. Cremation becomes, in this way, a cosmic act. The fire is not just an end, but a release. What was once confined within skin and bones now returns to the great continuum. Some call it spirit. Some call it soul. Science calls...
